1/12/2019 - Crash Me Outside

Main -

  • Fix for major bug which caused the server to crash
  • New decorative crops (recipes are 1 x Bonemeal + 3 x Crop)
  • Wheat Decoration can now be crafted with 1 x Bonemeal + 3 x Seeds
  • New achievements are available for killing mobs in creative ways. Full breakdown of these, in-game announcements, and interface coming soon.
  • Flow Arena now setup with Lobby and Stands having now PvP, but the battleground and surrounding world have PvP enabled.
  • Flow Mob drops increased slightly
  • Fixed an issue with mob kills not all being tracked for all players

1/13/2019 - Bigger, Faster, Stronger

Main -

  • Flow Updates
    • Disabled Ender Dragon spawning
    • Slightly increased the rate of Flow Mob spawning
    • Chat broadcast when a player kills a Flow Mob
    • Mobs gain higher levels the further from 0, 0 you go in The Flow
    • Mobs can now go up to level 18 and have from 40 to 300+ health
    • Loot drop chance reduced for lower level mobs
    • Stronger mobs drop higher experience (9 times the lvl of the mob)
    • Mobs can spawn in riding entities other than Bats (Horses, Polar Bears, etc...)
  • Fixed an issue where using a Water Bucket outside of a claimed area would cause lag

Main -

  • More Flow Updates
    • Fixed a few items not dropping
    • Mobs now spawn based on the region you're in. Zombies and Creepers spawn near the center of The Flow, while stronger mobs spawn further out. This allows us to limit certain drops to stronger mobs and now let people go too crazy farming every bit of epic loot in low level mobs.
    • Deadly Rabbits can now spawn in near the border (lvl 16-18)
  • Grief prevention claim block accrual reduced to 10/hour
  • Rune Guardians can now be summoned by right-clicking Redstone Ore instead of Diamond Ore
  • Increased Rune Guardian Health
  • Slightly reduced chance of finding Rune Dust
  • Slightly increased the Rune drop rate after killing a Rune Guardian
  • Fixed an issue where items held in the offhand slot would not grant their intended effects
  • Bug fixed at the Node Repair Shop where armor was not being repaired.
  • You must now left-click the Node Shops in order to open them, not right-click.
  • Added /lenny command.

Main -

  • Added Rice as a crop you can harvest. Unlocked in /farm at lvl 5 farming
  • Added Furnace recipe to convert Rice Grain into Cooked White Rice.
  • Changed Pike fish from using Tropical Fish type item to use Salmon.
  • Added Sushi Roll as a food item.
    • Crafted with 7 Dried Kelp, 1 Cooked White Rice, and 1 Raw Salmon
    • Restores hunger instantly, has a 5 second cooldown so you don't accidentally run it twice in a row
    • Gives 4 saturation (the same as Rotten Flesh - Sushi isn't very filling)
    • Gives 6 Sushi Rolls when crafted
  • Increased rate of animals spawning (20 from 10)
  • Decreased rate of bats spawning (10 from 15)
  • Decreased rate of hostile mobs spawning (65 from 70)
  • Skeleton Horses can now be leashed

Main -

  • GriefPrevention Claim Shop at the Node will now close the GUI and give you a confirmation message when you successfully buy claim blocks.
  • Using /heart should no longer leave a title stuck on your screen.
  • Players can no longer use an axe to strip a log or break a stripped log that is a part of a tree that they are not a Member of

1/19/2019 - Don't Loot My Backpack!

Main -

  • Players can open a Shulker Box like a backpack by Sneaking and Right-Clicking
  • Better management of stripped logs in roots
  • Some loot in The Flow will now only drop from certain mobs. (Example: "Pickle of Power" is only found when killing Creepers)
  • New loot added to The Flow mobs (Shulker Shell, Heart of the Sea, Elytra, and more)
  • Change a Minecart's type by Sneaking and Right-Clicking with the appropriate block (Example: Click with a Furnace to make a Furnace Minecart)

  • Challenge plugin updated with more root pathing optimization
  • Warp added at the Node - left click the end portal skull to get access to the /warp node1 command
  • Experience required to level up /fish reduced by 150 for all levels
  • Chance of attracting Crayfish with Red Worms or Worms reduced
  • Chance of catching a Large Perch with Red Worms increased to 75%
  • Worms added as bait option for Large Perch
  • Increased the maximum number of crops a player can plant from 250 to 350 (this increases max crops for all levels of /farm)
  • Fixed an issue with the Fishing Rod grappling hook for Dark Oak players not allowing them to fish

2/10/2019 - Legends of the Deep

Today's update is a continuation of recent updates meant to make the /fishing feature more fun. Today we're introducing new legendary fish types which you can catch and activate special abilities and effects, while also increasing the excitement and value of catching a wider variety of fish starting in level 1. These catches are based on real-world legends and mythology.

  • Fixed some of the lore on existing fish types.
  • Removed shininess of all non-legendary fish
  • Crayfish
    • Reduced the average length from 17.5cm to 6.5cm
    • Increased the chance of attracting with Corn from 5% to 15%
  • Small Perch
    • Reduced the chance of attracting them with Crayfish from 30% to 10%
  • Large Perch
    • Changed the item name from Perch to Large Perch
    • Increased the average length from 20.4 to 37.4
    • Decreased the chance of catching it with a Red Worm from 75% to 70%
    • Increased the chance of catching it with a Crayfish from 40% to 75.5%
    • Increased the average power from 75 to 85
  • New Catch - Taniwha Scale
    • Can be caught in any Biome
    • Less than 1% chance of attracting

Now that we've made early game fishing a little more interesting, let's give players a reason to grind through to higher levels.

First person to catch all 8 different Legendary Fish will get access to a new prefix in game. You must save the fish in a chest and send me a screenshot or ping me in game to confirm your catch.

  • Fishing experience formula adjusted to reduce leveling time even further
  • Fixed GUI display of money in /fish so that "$" comes before the amount, not after
  • New player stats created with placeholders to tell a player how they're doing
    • "caught_fish" shows the total number of Fish caught (shown in /fish stats)
    • "caught_legendary_fish" shows the total number of Legendary Fish caught (shown in /fish stats - see previous update for info)
    • Each Fish type also has its own "caught_{type}_fish" stat which is tracked
  • New broadcast sent to all players whenever a player catches a Legendary Fish
  • Sound Effect played when a player catches a Legendary Fish
  • Eye of Keanahaki catch changed
    • No longer grants a Bounty of Fish (30 Salmon) as bonus loot
    • Can be used as bait which can only attract a Bounty of Fish (30 Salmon)
    • Increased chance of attracting to ~1.5%
  • New Catch - Bounty of Fish
    • Can only be caught with an Eye of Keanahaki
    • Reward:

2/17/2019 - Net Positive Result

Many changes to the Network behind the scenes to help clean up various issues.

Network Changes:

  • Players will now log in at the Lobby server every time they log in, and will have to choose from Main, Build, or Oz using /servers
    • If the server a Player was on is offline for any reason, they'll still be able to log in and will be sent to the Lobby server instead of being stuck in a disconnection loop
  • Removed the "Plan" statistics tracker
  • Removed Nuvotifier (for now votes won't be tracked on the server)
  • Removed CubedPay connector (for now donations will need to be manually confirmed on the server)
  • Removed Cosmetics plugins (please do not use /tcperks to unlock any cosmetics)
  • Cleaned up the TCChallenge Plugin tasks to reduce the number of tasks created and optimize those same tasks
  • Added a cpulimit on server start to reduce the chance of overloading the cpu
  • Set specific resource limits to different processes so that each has a little breathing room for spikes without affecting the others
  • Better MySQL organization overall to reduce the number of connections the different servers make back to the Network's MySQL database

Main

  • Now whitelisted. Application process to join the whitelist will be released soon.
  • Removed the custom bonemeal mechanics which allowed for dirt to become grass, grow cacti, etc...
  • Cost of /mining passives being unlocked reduced to require fewer Runes
  • Rune Guardians now have a chance of teleporting to the player's position and are overall stronger in battle
  • No more /updates shown automatically when you login
  • Salmon, Cod, and Tropical Fish will no longer spawn naturally. A new method for getting these fish in buckets will be introduced in the future.
  • Bats will no longer spawn naturally.

Lobby

  • Moved to a new server entirely to free up resources on the VPS for TC Main
    • This server will need to be upgraded in the near future to provide a bit more RAM 
  • Removed Citizens and related NPC functionality
  • Reorganized the plugins and removed unused features
  • When a player logs in, they see /updates

Build

  • Better network handling for switching from the Build server to another and vice-versa

12/18/2019 - From a Trickle to a Stream

Today's updates are all about The Flow and making it more accessible to lower level players while increasing the payoff for late game players looking for stronger loot. The new loot drops will give greater benefit to players who want to experience the challenge of The Flow, while also giving the ability for players to progress through The Flow's tougher regions.

Like the fishing updates before, these changes to The Flow will be ongoing and are made with the purpose of making The Flow more fun, engaging, and worthwhile, and not just another random feature that no one cares about. There will be some balancing issues to handle as more weapons/armor are added to the drops, but we'll get there.

Main

  • The Flow
    • Shulker Shells and Shulker Boxes have 13 times greater chance of dropping when killing boss Witches, Creepers (rarely), and Slimes
    • Added many new weapons, armor types, shields, and gems to the loot table
    • Mob abilities like Thief no longer trigger on EVERY SINGLE attack from a player. Players now have a slightly better chance of surviving a battle with the stronger mobs.
    • Removed Fireworks, Explode, and Storm abilities from boss mobs to reduce lag potential.
    • Decreased XP Multiplier from 9 to 8
    • Decreased Max Powers for boss mobs from 10 to 9
    • Decreased chance of dropping epic loot from 98% to 97%
    • Removed money rewards from killing boss mobs
    • Simplified the messages that show when a player kills a boss mob so chat doesn't look crazy.
  • Gems can be added to socketed weapon, armor, or shield (which can be gotten in The Flow) to increase health, damage, critical strike chance, and more

Upcoming plans for The Flow

  • Re-generate the world with more structures and dividing lines to tell when you're in stronger boss mob territory
  • Add a wider variety of items which scale based on the strength of mobs killed
